Getting Ready to Apply & Interview

We know applying for a new role can feel a bit daunting but you dont have to figure it all out on your own. A little preparation can go a long way, and we want you to feel confident and ready to show your best self.

Here are a few tips to help you along the way.

Your Application: Set Yourself Up for Success

Top tips:

  • Read the job description carefully think about how your experience matches what we're looking for.
  • Tailor your CV or application, focusing on skills and achievements that are most relevant.
  • Keep it clear and honest We're more interested in you than fancy wording.

Using AI (Yes, It's OK!)

AI tools can be helpful when used thoughtfully. For example, you might use AI to:

  • Research our organisation, industry, or role
  • Help you structure your CV or think through examples
  • Practise interview questions or summarise your experience

Just remember:
Your application should sound like you.
Avoid copying and pasting AI-generated answers word-for-word.
Be ready to explain anything you submit in your own words during the interview.

Interview Preparation: What Were Really Looking For

Interviews arent about catching you out they're a two-way conversation. We want to understand how you work, what motivates you, and how you might fit into the team.

A few easy ways to prepare:

  • Review the job description and think of real examples from your experience
  • Prepare answers using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result)
  • Have a few questions ready it shows curiosity and interest

Tips for Microsoft Teams Interviews

If your interview is online, a little tech prep can make a big difference:

  • Test your camera, microphone and internet connection beforehand
  • Find a quiet space with minimal distractions
  • Join the call a few minutes early
  • Look at the camera (not the screen) when speaking it helps with connection
  • Dont worry about the odd tech hiccup it happens to everyone

And yes, notes are absolutely fine just keep them brief and natural.

Tips for Face-to-Face Interviews

Coming in to meet us? Great Are looking forward to it.

  • Plan your journey and aim to arrive a few minutes early
  • Wear something you feel comfortable and confident in

Most importantly, be yourself. We're not expecting perfection We're interested in potential, mindset, and real experiences.

Final Thought

We want interviews to feel human, respectful and fair. Preparation helps but so does being authentic. If you use AI, use it as a support tool, not a substitute for your own voice.
